Bigarreau Burlat Origin and distribution. A French sort, originating by a probably random seed in Rona department. It is one of the most popular cherry sorts in France. Popular in Spain and to some extent in other European countries. Imported in Bulgaria in 1967. Popular in the Kyustendil region. Basic standard sort. Agrobilogical and ecological characteristics. The tree is average to fast growing with wide pyramidal to average thick crown. The branches have mainly May bouquets. Early blossoming. Good to pollinate with Napoleon, Hedelfinger and Early Rivers. The sort is intersterile with Bigaro Moro. Starts producing crop about 4-5 years after seeding has moderate to good vigor. Cold resistance is below average, sensitive to late spring cold. Not very sensitive to sachmyanka and early brown rotting, tolerant to some virus illness, very sensitive to cylinder sporiosis. The fruit cracks if there are is a lot of raining during the ripening. Requires good air drainage, light and rich soil. The fruit ripens end of May, beginning of July. It is large (23 x 24 x 21mm), average weight 7,4g, wide heart-shaped, a bit flat with dull point. Imported in Bulgaria in 1967. Basic standard sort, widely distributed. Agrobiological and ecological characterics. The tree averge to strong growing with wide pyramidal, mid thick crown. The leader keeps his power over the ripening period. The branches are garnished with many May bouquets. Blossoms mid early. Pollinates with Bing. The sort is intersterile with Venus, Windsor and Mertonbigaro. Very vigorous. Cold resistant. Very sensitive to cylinder sporiosis and the Littlecherry virosis. If it rains a lot while ripening – the fruit cracks. Must be grown at typical for the cherry industry moist soil. The fruit ripens at the end of June. They are large (22 x 24 x 21 mm), average weight 7,3g, wide-round, with well expressed shoulders. The belly side is a bit inflated; the back has a shallow wide hollow. The belly seam is well expressed dark red line. The skin is thick, dark-red, glance. The flesh is thick, crispy, yellow to rose around the stone, sweet, a bit sour, juicy, with very good quality. Lambert Origin and distribution. Supposed that it is a hybrid between Napoleon X and Black Heart, grown by Lewelling, Oregon about 1848ã. Popular in the USA in the states of California and Oregon as well as some European countries. Imported in 1960. Basic standard sort. Agrobilogical and ecological characteristics. The tree is mid strong growing, ñ wide pyramidal crown and dominating of the leader. The branches garnished with many May bouquets. The sort is relatively resistant to cold, but sensitive to sudden cold and late spring cold. Blossoms late. Pollinates with Kozerska and Gemersdors. Intersterile with Bing and Napoleon. Cropping is mid early, average vigor. Very sensitive to cylinder sporiosis. Requires clay-sand warm soil and good air drainge. If it rains a lot while ripening – the fruit cracks. The fruit ripens late - end of July. They are large (24 x 24 x 21 mm), average weight 8g, with beautiful wide heart-shaped to long heart-shaped form and round top. Ranna Cerna Edra Origin and distribution. Unknown origin. Possibly foreign. Popular all over Bulgaria. Basic standard sort. Agrobilogical and ecological characteristics. The tree is strong growing and can grow very big. The crown is round (oval), thin. The trunk is thick. Blossoms early. Pollinates with Bigaro Moro, Oxen Heart, Napoleon, Victory. Cropping is early and is good and regular. Average resistance to low winter temperature, and better than average resistance to sudden cold. Grows well on rich clay-sand soil. Ripens in the first week of the ripening of the cherries. i.e. about the end of May. Mid large(19 x 21 x 18 mm), average weight 4,7g, wide heart-shaped, well-expressed shoulders. The back is a bit flat with wide hollow. The skin is thin, strong, dark-red to black, with fine, light hard to see spots. The flesh is dark-red soft to mid-hard, juicy sweet-to-sour, no specific aroma, color juice, with good to very good quality.
